Courtney love crystal hair looks

Courtney Loves  SWAROVSKI YEARS ✨

By Sean James

I created these hair looks for Courtney Love during the years I worked with her. Look closely and you’ll see Swarovski crystals individually glued throughout her hair.

This was a look Courtney and I came up with together, and it became something I started seeing everywhere. Hair and beauty stores began selling crystals, strands and accessories specifically designed to add sparkle to the hair — something that was definitely not commonplace when we first did this.

The inspiration actually went further back for me, to old Hollywood and stories of Marilyn Monroe using tiny flecks of gold in her hair to catch the light. I loved the idea of taking that kind of glamour and giving it a completely Courtney, rock-and-roll treatment.

I loved working with Courtney. She was a fascinating human being and genuinely one of the smartest women I’ve ever known. She absolutely loved fashion, and at that time designers were throwing incredible clothes at her. I like to call these the Versace years — fashion, rock & roll, glamour and just the right amount of chaos.

I don’t recall who did the makeup for these particular looks, so I don’t want to give the wrong credit — but the hair was mine.

And all these years later, I still smile when I walk into a hair store and see crystals made to be worn in the hair. ✨

Borderlands premiere

Yesterday I was so excited to do hair for Jaime Lee Curtis for her Press for borderlands movie by Lionsgate and Makeup was done by Grace Ahn and styling by Jane Ross Last night, I attended the premiere of Lionsgate's "Borderlands," and it was a fantastic evening. The movie, directed by Eli Roth, is a vibrant and thrilling adventure from start to finish. As the film opens, viewers are immediately transported into outer space, setting the stage for an epic journey. The storyline weaves together elements of fantasy, friendship, and humor, following an oddball group of characters. Cate Blanchett shines as Lilith, a siren with mysterious powers. Kevin Hart brings his comedic flair to the role of Roland, a skilled soldier. Jack Black voices Claptrap, the quirky robot, while Jamie Lee Curtis portrays Dr. Tannis, a brilliant yet eccentric scientist. Ariana Greenblatt delivers a standout performance as Tiny Tina, a feisty demolitions expert. Edgar Ramirez is mesmerizing as the fu...
